PersonaShield is now live. A single place to protect your likeness and give your fans an official way to create.

When you buy a house, somewhere there is a piece of paper with your name on it. A deed. You cannot live in it, but it is the reason the house is yours. There is one for your car. There is one for the song you wrote at two in the morning. For almost everything you value, there is something you can hold up that says, this is mine.
There has never been one for your face.
Your face is the most personal thing you have. It was yours before you could speak. And it is the one thing about you that no paper backs up. For most of history that did not matter, because your face stayed where you did. Then AI learned to make a believable image of you in seconds, and the one thing nobody thought to protect became the easiest thing in the world to take.
Today we are changing that. We are launching PersonaShield, a way to own how AI uses your likeness.
This was never a deepfake problem
People call it a deepfake problem, or a misinformation problem, or something for the platforms to moderate. Detect it faster. Take it down sooner. Write more rules for AI. We understand the instinct, but the framing is off, and every fix built on it keeps falling short.
Think about how well a company can protect its logo. There is a registry that proves the design is theirs, and a clear process to stop anyone who copies it. A brand has more say over its logo than you have ever had over your own face. The problem was never that AI can make your face. The problem is that nobody asked you, because there was no you to ask. We are not against AI. We just think it should have to ask first.
So we built the part that was missing
None of this had to stay this way. There was no deed for your face, not because one is impossible, but because nobody had built it yet. So we did. The right was always yours. We built the part that finally lets you hold it. How it works
It starts with your safeguards, and the order matters. You set them first, before anything gets scanned or taken down. Your safeguards are your rules for how your likeness can be used in AI images, what is welcome and what is off limits. No alcohol. No political endorsements. No brand placements. Or yes, my fans can create with me in these ways. The rules are yours, and you can change them anytime.
That one set of safeguards powers everything. It decides what comes down, and it decides what your fans can make. Two sides, the same rules, all run by you.
Protection
Most tools can only take things down, and only after you have found the problem and reported it yourself. PersonaShield works the other way. Because you set your rules up front, it can act for you. When something breaks your safeguards, we find it, bring it to your attention, and you decide whether to take it down. You cannot be everywhere your face shows up. Your safeguards can. We start with monitoring on X, with more platforms coming soon, and we keep you in the loop the whole way.
Official creation
Here is the side almost nobody is talking about. When your likeness is yours, you can choose to share it too. Your fans are already making images with your face, on tools you do not control, in ways you cannot see, and you earn nothing from it. Official creation lets you open that door on your terms. A stream challenge. A milestone worth marking. A moment your fans want to be part of. They create inside the rules you set, with your approval, and you earn from what they were already making anyway.
Your fans get closer to you, and you get to be part of it.
Why we built PersonaShield
"The problem was never AI. It was not having a say in it," said Phillip Shoemaker, founder and CEO of PersonaShield. "We built PersonaShield to give that say back. You decide how your likeness gets used, and your fans get an official way to create with you instead of around you."
As the former Head of App Store Review at Apple, Shoemaker spent years deciding what was allowed onto the iPhone, the iPad, and the rest of Apple's devices. The lesson that stuck with him is simple. Whoever sets the rules holds the power, and everyone else lives inside them. For your face, the AI tools and the platforms have been setting the rules. PersonaShield hands them back to you. He also founded Identity.org, a nonprofit focused on digital rights, privacy, and how AI is reshaping human identity online, and is the author of the forthcoming book Unbreakable: How to Secure Your Digital Life in a World Built to Breach You, open for pre-order now ahead of an October release.
